Magical Butter Machine Review

Are you looking for the easiest way to make your own cannabutter aka weed butter? Then look no further, I want to introduce you to the Magical Butter Machine! This might look like your average kitchen accessory but it is actually MAGICAL

What Does the Machine Make?

The MB Machine can infuse butters and oils with just a couple of clicks of a button. Make your own cannabutter, infused coconut oil, olive oil and tinctures. These “bases” can be used in SO many ways to make a large variety of edibles, topicals, oils and salves.

How Does it Work?

STEP ONE: Decarb

First, you need to decarb your cannabis, this is a standard step in all edible making to activate the THC in the weed.

Most people use a roasting bag or baking pan but Magical has a decarb box that makes this step less smelly and the thermometer included in the decarb box helps you ensure you are decarboxylating at the right temperature.

STEP TWO - Loading the Machine

Now is time to add your base (coconut oil, butter, ghee, etc) and your cannabis. You can use 14-28 grams of cannabis for every cup of butter or oil.

An important thing to note is you want your butter or coconut oil to be SOFT when you put it in the machine. Don’t throw a whole, hard block of butter in the machine because it does have a blender inside that could be damaged if used improperly.

If you want to use Sunflower Lethecin now is the time to add that too. This ingredient is optional but it does aid the absorption of the cannabinoids into your body.

After you have all your materials in the machine the lid on and its time for the next step

STEP THREE- Select Settings

You can select different temperatures and times on the top of the machine. For example for cannabutter you would select 160 F and then click the 2 hours for Butter. It’s that simple!

STEP FOUR - Let the Machine Run

Depending on your setting selected the time will vary. Below is a picture of all the different temperature and time settings that are optimal for infusions.

STEP FIVE - Filtering

Once the machine starts beeping that means it’s done! Now the real work begins. The Machine comes with a screen bag for separating the plant matter from your oil/butter. It also comes with a silicone glove to use, since the butter or oil can be absorbed through the skin.

STEP SIX - Storage

It’s easier to pre measure out your cannabis butter when its liquid . So when it comes time to use it you already have a tablespoon, 1/2 cup or a cup pre measured and good to go.

I love using silicone molds since its SO easy to pop out the butter or coconut oil once it has hardened.

I recommend storing your butter in a glass Tupperware air-tight container. Proper storeage is important to increasing the shelf life of cannabutter which is usually up to six months if stored properly.

Does it Smell?

Decarbing is definitely the smelliest step of the process. However, the Decarb box from Magical Butter is a sealed silicone box so it does help keep the smell down.

If you think about it, during decarb you are essentially “baking” the cannabis so just as you bake anything in the oven there is some smell.

Ways to decrease the smell during decarboxylation

  • Open windows

  • Direct a fan towards a facing out an open window so it sucks the odorous air outside

  • Run an air filter

  • Burn incense or candles

  • If you can, close doors in the kitchen or hang sheets in the doorway to minimize smell wafting to other rooms in the house

Does Using the Machine Smell?

Using the machine its self doesn’t have much of an odor, it’s completely sealed while the machine is running.

Magical Butter Machine VS Slowcooker (Crock Pot)

Yes, you can make cannabutter without a fancy machine, a couple of popular methods are either in a slow cooker or using the double boiler method on the stove. But there are some major drawbacks to these methods including smell.

Issues with Crockpot/Double Boiler Method

  • More Smell

  • Little to no temperature control

  • Double Boiler method requires constant supervision

  • More margin for error

MAGICAL PROS

  • Easy to Use

  • Consistent and Accurate Temperature Control

  • Variety of Settings

  • Low Smell while Machine is Running

MAGICAL CONS

  • Cleaning is a bit tedious with no removable parts

  • No count down timer to let you know how much time is left on infusion

Final Verdict

The Magical Butter Machine is totally worth it! It was one of the first home infusion appliances available to consumers and has a long track record of happy USERS
